The Power of Prayer

What an incredible journey the past 24 hours have been! Thank you for your love, support and prayers. We are humbled to have so many church services halted today to focus on praying at the feet of Jesus for my husband. Prayers are literally being lifted from all over the globe for us--and for that we are so very grateful.

Our journey is not over. Every hour is a new milestone. Mark did well in the surgery and his new heart is beating on its own. He is in Cardiac ICU. This was our 4th open-heart surgery and with each one comes more complexity. The decision was made to leave his chest open for a few days to let his heart have a chance to acclimate to its new surroundings. He will be in a medically induced coma on a ventilator until his chest is closed. We believe that will be Tuesday.

We have spent time with him at his bedside and despite the significant sedation medication he is on, he is still fighting and finding a way to communicate. He has held my hand tightly, wiggled his toes on command, answered questions by shaking his head and lifting his eyebrows.

We continue to ask for your prayers:
-Pray for complete and quick healing.
-Pray for no rejection.
-Pray for no infection.
-Pray for God's protection over him.
-Pray for strength for our family.
-Pray for peace for the heart donor's family.
Thank you for walking this journey with us and showing us love and support in so many ways. To God Be the Glory!
